Biju Patnaik International Airport is situated in the city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha and is the sole international airport in the state of Odisha. The airports IATA code is "BBI". It is named after the former Chief Minister of Odisha, Biju Patnaik, who was also a famed aviator and freedom fighter. The airport is also known as Bhubaneswar Airport. Biju Patnaik International Airport was accorded international status by the Government Of India on 30 October 2013.
