About Ghaziabad
In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad is a planned industrial city. As its boundary is adjacent to Delhi, it acts as the main entrance in to Uttar Pradesh and that is why this city is also referred to as the Gateway of Uttar Pradesh. Ghazi-ud-din is the founder of this city, who initially called it Ghaziuddinnagar after himself. Later the name was shortened to Ghaziabad. It is a large industrial city well-connected by roads and railways. Traditional North India cuisine is an absolute favourite and the official spoken language in the city is Hindi.

As it is close to the National Capital Delhi, its temperatures and weather conditions are similar to that of Delhi. The best time to visit is from October to March when the weather is at its best.

Thakurdwara Temple – This old Hindu temple is situated in the Ajrara village near Ghaziabad. The resident deity is said to possess magical powers whose blessings have caused many miracles.

Dudheshwar Nath Mandir – The Dudheshwar Nath Mandir is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the most famous local temples of Ghaziabad. This colorful and vibrant temple is a local favourite and is definitely worth a visit to witness some mythological legends that surround the origin of this temple.

Sai Upvan – A scenic monastery that houses the shrine of the revered saint Sai Baba, Sai Upavan is a true haven. Idyllically located beside the Grand Trunk road, the large monastery is surrounded by peaceful and quaint gardens and orchards that add to the piousness of the place.

Garhmukteshwar – Garhmukteshwar is a small and quaint town where the river Ganges flows, which alleviates the cultural and aesthetic significance of this town. An annual bathing fair is organized in Garhmukteshwar during Dussehra when close to a million people take a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges.
